Polyester Mesh Belts Enhance Efficiency and Quality in Reifenhäuser Nonwoven Production Lines

A new generation of polyester mesh belts is redefining performance standards across Reifenhäuser nonwoven fabric production lines, delivering higher efficiency, stability, and precision in fiber web forming and transport.

Widely applied in spunbond, meltblown, and SMS composite lines, these advanced mesh belts serve as the key medium for web conveyance, thermal bonding, and air permeability control. Their material composition—primarily 100% polyester (PET), with optional PPS or PEN for high-temperature sections—ensures excellent dimensional stability and long service life under demanding conditions.

The belts are engineered in various configurations, including single-layer, double-layer, and spiral mesh structures, to meet the diverse needs of modern nonwoven systems. Typical specifications feature thicknesses between 0.8 and 2.2 mm, air permeability from 1000 to 3000 L/dm²·s, and heat resistance up to 200°C for PET or 230°C for reinforced models.

“Polyester mesh belts may look simple, but they are critical to ensuring uniform web formation and surface quality,” said a Reifenhäuser line operator. “A well-designed belt means smoother operation, consistent fabric texture, and fewer shutdowns.”

The belts’ surface flatness, high tensile strength, and low stretch properties make them particularly suitable for high-speed continuous operation in SMS composite lines and thermal bonding sections. The option of seamless or pin-seamed joints provides easy installation and reliable performance even under continuous load.

With the growing global demand for hygiene and filtration materials, nonwoven producers are seeking greater durability and process control from every component in their lines. The improved polyester mesh belts meet that need—supporting stable output, lower maintenance, and superior fabric uniformity.

As manufacturers continue upgrading Reifenhäuser and other high-end production systems, these enhanced mesh solutions are fast becoming a new benchmark for the nonwoven industry.
